Pickups ranked by Week 8 usage, with how each player's role changed since Weeks 1–6. Plus: how last week's board did.
Byes: PIT, TEN. Claims run Wednesday in most leagues. ESPN roster % as of Nov 3, 1:06 PM PT. Trend = Sleeper trending adds, last 24 hours, pulled Nov 3, 1:06 PM PT; trending is what people are adding, not a recommendation. Bids are % of a $100 FAAB budget and are our opinion.

Week 9 waiver board. Sort by any column; filter by position. Wk 8 opps = carries + targets. Role = share of team targets (WR, TE) or carries (RB) in games played, Weeks 1–6 → Weeks 7–8.
Week 8: 11 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown, plus all 5 targets for 44 yards and another score. Jeremiyah Love (ankle) and Bam Knight (concussion) both left the game and didn't return.
Love was diagnosed with a right high-ankle sprain on Tuesday and is expected to go on IR for 4 to 5 weeks. Knight is in the concussion protocol. That leaves Allgeier as the lead back for at least the next month.
Seattle's defense is tough (#30 of 32 against the pass), but this is a volume bet. Opinion: the top add this week.

Week 8: 25 carries for 83 yards, 9 of them inside the 20 and 6 inside the 5. Ashton Jeanty had 2 carries. Washington wasn't targeted.
Klint Kubiak said Jeanty's light rushing load was his call, but also that Jeanty is "still going to be a big part of our team." Kubiak called the split a "moving target." Opinion: Washington is the add, but this could swing back.
Week 8: 7 catches for 142 yards and a touchdown on 9 targets, with 222 air yards (46% of the Jets'). He's the #1 add on Sleeper.
Garrett Wilson still led the team with 12 targets, and Omar Cooper Jr. had 0 on 78% of snaps. Opinion: Mitchell is the Jets WR to roster behind Wilson, but expect weeks with fewer targets.
The Giants were on bye in Week 8. In Week 7 he ran 5 times for 41 yards and the game-winning touchdown and caught 3 passes for 14.
Tyrone Tracy (hamstring) went on IR on Oct 27. Cam Skattebo (hamstring) is day-to-day and could be a game-time decision Sunday, per John Harbaugh. If Skattebo sits, Singletary is the lead back. Opinion: a cheap add with real upside this week.
Gardner Minshew II QB · ARI @ SEA · 0.1% rostered (ESPN) · Sleeper add #3
SuperflexOur bid: 1–3% (superflex 8–12%)(opinion)
Wk 8: 17/23, 188 yds

SEA pass D #30 of 32
He replaced Jacoby Brissett late in the third quarter and went 17 of 23 for 188 yards and 3 touchdowns in the overtime win. Mike LaFleur named him the starter for Sunday.
Seattle allows -0.08 EPA per dropback, #30 of 32. Opinion: a superflex add only. Don't start him in 1-QB leagues this week.

Bhayshul Tuten (ankle, foot) was a non-participant Monday and wasn't seen at Tuesday's practice, per Michael DiRocco. Rodriguez was limited Monday with a hand injury. Jacksonville plays Thursday, so check the report before you bid. Opinion: only worth it if Tuten looks doubtful.
We grade our own picks every week. 1 of our 5 Week 8 non-QB picks who played scored 10+ PPR points. Best: Jonah Coleman (20.4 on 16 opportunities). Worst: Omar Cooper Jr. (0.0 on 0 opportunities, 78% of snaps).

Cheap adds
Sione Vaki, RB, DET (0.7% ESPN): 11 carries for 65 yards on 28% of snaps. A handcuff behind Jahmyr Gibbs. 0–2%
Dylan Sampson, RB, CLE (11.5% ESPN): 8 targets (20% of Cleveland's), 6-62, on 56% of snaps. A PPR flex in deep leagues; he had 1 carry. 0–2%
Treylon Burks, WR, WAS (6.5% ESPN): 3 catches for 81 yards on 5 targets and 67% of snaps. Big plays, small volume. 0–1%
Trending, but careful
Big on Sleeper's add list; the data says wait.
Emmett Johnson, RB, KC: Sleeper add #4. 5 catches for 128 yards and a TD, mostly one 73-yard play, on 19% of snaps. Kenneth Walker had 25 touches. He's a handcuff, not a starter.
Kenny Gainwell, RB, TB: 25 carries for 140 yards in a game Tampa Bay won without a single completion. Bucky Irving had 27 carries for 170. Don't expect that script again. Tampa Bay plays at Chicago.
Mike Gesicki, TE, CIN: Sleeper add #9. A touchdown in 6 of his 7 games, including 5 straight, but only 6 of 47 targets (13%) in Week 8. Touchdowns this steady don't last; the targets are thin.
Malik Washington, WR, MIA: Sleeper add #11. 6 of 30 targets (20%), 5-40 and a one-yard TD. Fine as a deep-league flex vs Detroit, not a priority.
Ryan Flournoy, WR, DAL: Sleeper add #12. 3-38 and a TD on 4 targets (14%). The touchdown is doing the work.
Don't bid / OK to drop
Emanuel Wilson, RB, SEA: #1 drop on Sleeper. He played 0% of the offensive snaps on Monday night after Jadarian Price came off IR and Zach Charbonnet made his season debut. OK to drop.
Omar Cooper Jr., WR, NYJ: #7 drop on Sleeper. 0 targets on 78% of snaps in Week 8. Hold in deep leagues; he had 103 and 115 yards the two weeks before.
Elijah Mitchell, RB, PHI: He reverted to the Eagles' practice squad on Monday. Drop.
Tyler Higbee, TE, LA: #9 drop on Sleeper. 2 targets (8%) in Week 8. OK to drop.
Don't drop Carnell Tate, WR, TEN: He missed Week 8 (shoulder) and the Titans are on bye, but he's expected back in Week 10 vs Jacksonville on Nov 15. He has 46.9% of Tennessee's air yards in the 7 games he's played.
Braelon Allen, RB, NYJ (83.3% ESPN): 21 carries for 147 yards and a TD in Week 8. Breece Hall (quad) is "good to go" and expected back Sunday at Kansas City, per Ian Rapoport, so Allen's workload likely shrinks.
Malik Willis, QB, MIA (10.5% ESPN): 21/32, 211 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT in Week 8. Detroit's pass defense is #4 softest (+0.20). A superflex start; Sleeper add #10.
Our model: defense havoc rate (sacks, INTs, fumble recoveries per play) plus the opponent's giveaway rate, Weeks 1–8. League medians: 5.6% havoc, 5.4% giveaways.
Saints vs CLE (2.1% ESPN): Cleveland gives it away on 8.6% of plays, #2 in the NFL. New Orleans' havoc rate (5.7%) is just above the median. #1 in our model and nearly free on ESPN.
Bears vs TB (29.0% ESPN): Havoc on 7.2% of plays; Tampa Bay gives it away on 6.7%. Both above the median. #4 in our model.
Lions @ MIA (28.7% ESPN): Miami gives it away on 7.1% of plays; Detroit's havoc rate is 6.2%. #5 in our model.
Packers (deep) @ NE (17.7% ESPN): Havoc on 6.8%; New England gives it away on 6.0%. #7 in our model.
Start, don't stream: Texans @ LAC (#2, 63.3% rostered; the Chargers give it away on 8.6% of plays, the most in the NFL) and Vikings vs BUF (#3, 87.4%; Minnesota has the NFL's highest havoc rate, 8.4%).

Week 9 waiver FAQ
When do Week 9 waivers process?
Wednesday in most ESPN and Sleeper leagues, but your league settings decide. Jacksonville and Baltimore play Thursday night, so their players lock first.
What does the FAAB range mean?
It's our suggested bid as a share of a $100 season budget. It's an opinion, not a projection. Bid more if you're desperate at the position, less if you're deep.
What is the role change column?
It compares a player's share of his team's targets (WR, TE) or carries (RB) in the games he played in Weeks 1–6 with the games he played in Weeks 7–8. A rising number means a bigger role, not just a big box score.
Where do the usage numbers come from?
Snap shares come from nflverse snap counts. Targets, air yards and carries come from nflverse play-by-play through Monday night of Week 8. Every number on this page was recomputed a second way and matched to nflverse's player stats before it went up.
Who is on bye in Week 9?
Pittsburgh and Tennessee.
Why isn't a trending player listed?
Trending only means people are adding him. If his Week 8 usage doesn't back it up, we say so in "Trending, but careful" instead of telling you to bid.
How did last week's picks do?
See "Last week's board, graded" on this page: every Week 8 pick with his actual Week 8 snaps, opportunities and PPR points from nflverse.
How we built this
Snap shares: nflverse snap counts. Targets, air yards and carries: nflverse play-by-play through MNF of Week 8 (carries exclude QB scrambles; kneels count, like official stats; red zone = inside the 20; goal line = inside the 5). Role change = the player's share of his team's targets (WR, TE) or carries (RB) in the games he played in Weeks 1–6 vs Weeks 7–8. Every number was recomputed from the raw files a second way and matched to nflverse's player stats. News is linked to the reporter or outlet. Roster %: ESPN. Trending: Sleeper.
